Recap

Western Kentucky dominated North Alabama 55-6 in a lopsided season opener, powered by quarterback Maverick McIvor's five touchdown passes. The Hilltoppers scored 28 points in the second quarter alone, with K.D. Hutchinson hauling in two touchdown receptions including a 78-yard strike. After North Alabama kept it close early with two field goals from Ian Vachon, Western Kentucky's offense exploded for seven touchdowns and two field goals to overwhelm the Lions.
