Wake Forest escaped with a thrilling 13-12 victory over SMU as Connor Calvert drilled a 50-yard field goal as time expired. The Demon Deacons started strong with Eni Falayi's 12-yard touchdown reception from Robby Ashford in the second quarter, but SMU fought back to take a 12-10 lead on Shaadie Clayton-Johnson's 6-yard touchdown run in the third. Calvert's clutch kick, his third field goal of the day, sent the Winston-Salem crowd home celebrating.
