Recap

BYU claimed Holy War bragging rights with a thrilling 24-21 victory over Utah at LaVell Edwards Stadium, powered by quarterback Bear Bachmeier's two total touchdowns. The Cougars held a slim 10-7 halftime lead before the rivals traded advantages in an action-packed fourth quarter featuring four lead changes. Bachmeier's clutch 22-yard touchdown run with 4:22 remaining proved decisive as BYU withstood a late Utah touchdown to secure the three-point win.
