Recap

Virginia stunned North Carolina 17-16 in a thrilling overtime edition of the South's Oldest Rivalry when the Tar Heels failed on a critical two-point conversion attempt. After a defensive first half ended knotted at 10-10, the teams battled to a stalemate in the second half before J'Mari Taylor punched in a 1-yard touchdown run for the Cavaliers in overtime. Despite Gio Lopez finding Davion Gause for a 9-yard touchdown response, North Carolina's two-point conversion pass fell incomplete, sealing the dramatic Virginia victory at Kenan Stadium.
