Recap

The Old Dominion Monarchs dominated their in-city rivals, rolling past the Norfolk State Spartans 31-10 at Kornblau Field at S.B. Ballard Stadium. In a battle of Norfolk programs, the Monarchs controlled the action from start to finish, building a commanding lead that the Spartans couldn't overcome. Old Dominion's balanced attack and stifling defense kept Norfolk State in check throughout the contest. The Monarchs' 21-point victory margin showcased their superiority in this local showdown, as they improved their standing in the Sun Belt Conference. Norfolk State struggled to generate consistent offense against a fired-up Old Dominion squad that clearly came ready to defend home turf. The Monarchs sent their fans home happy with a convincing performance in this cross-town rivalry.
