Maine vs Boston College

Boston College survived a serious scare at Alumni Stadium, holding off Maine 22-16 in a game that stayed tight until the final whistle. The Eagles struggled to pull away from the determined Black Bears, who refused to back down despite being outmanned on paper. What should have been a comfortable home opener turned into a defensive grind with 169 plays of hard-fought football. The Black Bears proved they came to compete, keeping this one within a single possession for much of the contest. Boston College ultimately did enough to secure the win, but Maine's gutsy performance served notice that they won't be pushovers for anyone this season. The Eagles escape with the victory, but they'll need sharper execution moving forward in Atlantic Coast play.
