Recap
Lamar held off a late Abilene Christian rally to secure a 21-14 victory at Provost Umphrey Stadium. Quarterback Aiden McCown led the Cardinals' attack with three touchdown passes, connecting with Davin Driskell twice and hitting Blake Thomas for a crucial 33-yarder just before halftime. The Wildcats' John David Black threw a pair of touchdowns in response, including a 4-yard strike to Cristian Driver with under four minutes remaining, but Lamar's defense stood tall to preserve the win.
