Recap
Marshall escapes Springfield with a hard-fought 30-24 road victory over Missouri State at Robert W. Plaster Stadium. The Thundering Herd managed to edge the Bears in what turned into a defensive slugfest, with both teams battling through 187 plays of intense Sun Belt-Conference USA action. The Bears made Marshall earn every yard in front of their home crowd, keeping it a one-possession game throughout. Despite Missouri State's valiant effort to protect their home turf, the Thundering Herd's six-point edge proved just enough. Marshall improves their resume with a gritty road win, while the Bears showed they can hang with quality opponents but came up just short when it mattered most.
