Recap

The USC Trojans escaped SHI Stadium with a thrilling 42-35 victory over Rutgers in a Big Ten shootout that came down to the wire. In a game that featured 183 plays and relentless back-and-forth action, the Trojans had just enough firepower to overcome a determined Scarlet Knights squad playing in front of their home crowd in Piscataway. Rutgers battled until the final whistle, making USC earn every single point in this high-scoring affair. The Scarlet Knights proved they belong in the Big Ten dogfight, but the Trojans' ability to answer every challenge ultimately made the difference. Seven-point games don't get much more entertaining than this one.
