Recap

The Illinois Fighting Illini escaped East Lansing with a heart-stopping 38-37 victory over Michigan State in a Big Ten thriller at Spartan Stadium. In a game that featured 173 plays of back-and-forth action, Illinois found a way to edge the Spartans by the slimmest of margins on the road. This was exactly the kind of battle you'd expect between two conference rivals fighting for every inch. The Fighting Illini made just enough plays when it mattered most to grab the one-point win, leaving the Spartans and their home crowd agonizingly close to victory. A massive road conference win for Illinois in what had to be an absolute nail-biter from start to finish.
