New Mexico vs Oklahoma

The Sooners grinded out a hard-fought 14-6 defensive battle over New Mexico at Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium. In a game that featured 161 plays but precious few points, Oklahoma's defense stood tall when it mattered most, never allowing the Lobos to find the end zone despite the visitors' persistent effort. This was a street fight in Norman, with both defenses controlling the tempo and making life miserable for the opposing offenses. The Sooners did just enough on offense to pull away, but New Mexico's defense made them earn every yard. Oklahoma moves forward with a gritty win that showcased their defensive identity, while the Lobos showed they could hang tough against Southeastern Conference competition even if they couldn't quite break through for the victory.
