Navy vs Air Force

Navy came to the thin air of Colorado Springs with championship aspirations, but Air Force had other plans. In a defensive slugfest befitting the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy rivalry, the Falcons gritted out a 14-9 victory over the Midshipmen at Falcon Stadium. Both service academies battled through 156 plays of hard-nosed, option-based football, but Navy couldn't find the end zone when it mattered most. The five-point margin doesn't tell the whole story of Air Force's dominance in the trenches. The Falcons controlled the line of scrimmage and kept Navy's triple-option attack just frustrated enough to prevent any scoring drives from reaching paydirt. With this Commander-in-Chief's Trophy victory, Air Force takes a crucial step toward claiming the service academy bragging rights and keeps their season momentum rolling.
