Recap

Iowa State looked absolutely dominant down the stretch, but this game was far from over early. The Cyclones trailed 6-18 before unleashing their offensive firepower with back-to-back 11-2 scoring runs that completely flipped the momentum. By the end of the first half, Iowa State had seized control and never looked back, building a devastating 23-point lead that suffocated Kentucky's comeback hopes. The Wildcats fought to stay alive, but Iowa State's suffocating defense proved too much in this NCAA Tournament Second Round matchup at the Enterprise Center. Kentucky managed only 63 points as the No. 2 seed Cyclones cruised to a 19-point victory, advancing deeper into March. The Wildcats' late free throws were merely consolation—Iowa State's defense and balanced scoring attack were simply too much to overcome.
