Recap

Michigan's suffocating defense was on full display in this Elite 8 matchup at the United Center. The No. 1 seed Wolverines dominated from the opening tip, exploding for a devastating 23-2 run early to establish control. By halftime, Michigan had already built a commanding 48-26 lead, with Tennessee's offense completely stalled—the Volunteers went 67 consecutive plays without scoring at one point in the first half. The Wolverines kept the pressure on in the second half, extending their advantage to a massive 34 points and never letting Tennessee find any rhythm. Tennessee's historic shooting struggles continued, and Michigan's relentless defensive schemes left no room for a comeback. The Wolverines added another 12-2 run in the second half to cruise to a 95-62 victory, punching their ticket to the Final Four and proving their status as a No. 1 seed is well-deserved.
