Recap

Kansas dominated early, building a commanding 26-point lead behind a devastating 12-2 run that pushed the score to 25-8. But California Baptist refused to quit. The Lancers stormed back with an 18-2 run late in the second half, slicing a 24-point deficit down to just four points at 66-60 and forcing the Jayhawks to survive a genuine scare. With the upset hopes alive, Kansas answered when it mattered most. Tre White threw down a clutch dunk with 12 seconds remaining—assisted by Darryn Peterson—to seal a tense 68-60 victory in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament at Viejas Arena. The fourth-seeded Jayhawks advance despite California Baptist's relentless second-half surge.
