In the 2024 season, Pitt listed Caden Smith as a 6-foot-4, 185-pound redshirt junior receiver, but he appeared in only one game, so the current on-field sample is tiny.[1] His biggest differentiator is upside: uncommon length for the position, a local Pennsylvania background, and multi-sport versatility in high school, which hints at natural athletic feel.[1] The catch is that he has not yet produced meaningful college stats, and reports in January 2026 indicated he would not return to Pitt for the 2026 season.[1][2]
