Tyler Smith is South Carolina State’s rugged, reliable chain-mover at RB
In the 2025 season, Tyler Smith led South Carolina State in rushing with 512 yards and 6 touchdowns on 112 carries, adding 96 receiving yards and showing he can stay on the field with no reported fumbles.[3][4][14] The redshirt senior from Gaffney, S.C. is listed at 5-foot-10, 190 pounds and has earned preseason All-America recognition for 2026, which backs up the eye test: downhill, physical, and efficient in traffic.[6][9][12] If you want a back who brings steadiness, toughness, and proven production, Smith looks like a strong fit.[3][6]
