Transfer DL Bringing Size and HS Pedigree to Nicholls D-Line
At 6'4", 305 lbs, redshirt junior Joey Lightfoot transferred from UTEP to Nicholls in May 2025 after logging 3 tackles (1 solo) in 7 games as a 2024 redshirt freshman, showcasing early rotational promise against Power 5 foes like Nebraska.[1][2][4] His HS dominance at A&M Consolidated—91 tackles, 7 sacks, 15 TFLs over two years, earning All-District 11-5A Co-DL MVP—hints at untapped pass-rush juice in a bigger frame.[1] Ideal for teams needing run-stuffing bulk with developmental upside; no injury flags, just raw intensity waiting to erupt in the SLC.
