In the 2025 season, Preston Welch was a redshirt freshman quarterback at Nicholls listed at 6-foot-2, 190 pounds, and the available stat log shows only a brief rushing appearance with no passing attempts, so his college résumé is still mostly upside and projection rather than production. He looks like a long-term evaluation piece: a young QB in a crowded room who has the frame to grow into the position, but not yet the game tape or stat line to sell you on finished-product polish.
