SMU’s young WR with proven Texas production and upside
Jake Peveto enters the conversation as a young SMU receiver who was a productive high-school target in the 2023 season, posting 42 catches, 755 yards, 18.0 yards per catch, and 8 receiving TDs at College Station.[10] SMU listed him as a 5-foot-11, 180-pound freshman in 2025, and the program notes he played in one game as a freshman in 2024, so this is still a development story more than a finished product.[2][4] What makes him interesting is the big-play profile and proven ball skills; the fit question comes down to whether he can turn that prep explosiveness into consistent collegiate separation and reliability.
