Rice LB Austin Williams brings size and upside to the Owls’ front seven
Austin Williams is a 6-2, 235-pound sophomore linebacker for Rice from Lake Travis in Austin, Texas, giving the Owls a big, sturdy presence in the middle of the defense.[3] The key appeal is projection: his frame and position fit suggest he can handle run support and grow into a reliable three-down piece if his processing and consistency keep trending up.[3] There isn’t enough verified stat-leader data here to label him a production star yet, but his profile says “developmental defender with upside,” which is exactly the kind of player teams want to coach hard and trust in space.[2][3]
