Athletic FIU WR with untapped upside
Nicholas Smith Jr. is a speed-based wideout prospect whose appeal starts with track-level explosiveness—247Sports lists 100-meter times as quick as 10.96 in high school—and he flashed productive prep hands at Stranahan, posting 20 catches for 423 yards and 3 touchdowns before joining FIU. The catch: FIU’s 2024 roster bio says he did not see game action, so the evaluation is mostly about projection, not proven college production yet. If you’re looking for a developmental receiver with vertical juice and big-play potential, he’s intriguing; if you need an immediate finished product, he’s still a work in progress.
