In the 2025 preseason, Will Shaffer entered as a redshirt senior at Abilene Christian with major buzz: Preseason All-America First Team, Preseason UAC Defensive Player of the Year, and a Buck Buchanan Award watch-list pick. After a breakout 2024 season in which he led ACU with 108 tackles, added 6.5 tackles for loss, two sacks and two interceptions, he looks like a relentless, high-motor linebacker who makes plays from sideline to sideline and has the production, pedigree and leadership to fit a winning defense.[1][7][9]
