Dimitri Johnson is a steady, high-volume linebacker with playmaking juice
In the 2024 season, Dimitri Johnson was a full-time starter for New Mexico, finishing with 77 tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, an interception, a fumble recovery and two pass breakups. His calling card is versatility: he shows up in the run game, can blitz, and has the instincts to steal possessions, highlighted by a game-clinching interception at Utah State. Coaches and preseason voters clearly value his consistency and leadership, too, as he earned All-Academic recognition and preseason Mountain West attention. He looks like a dependable, assignment-sound fit for teams wanting a tough, experienced linebacker.
