Marenco brings veteran depth and tackling know-how to Wake Forest’s linebacker room
Alec Marenco is a 6-foot-2, 234-pound redshirt senior who adds experienced, plug-and-play depth at linebacker for Wake Forest after logging 66 tackles in the 2023 season at New Mexico and earning All-Mountain West honorable mention. His game is built on steady pursuit, reliable tackling, and special-teams value, which makes him the kind of no-drama, high-floor defender coaches trust. He had a quiet 2025 role at Wake Forest, but the résumé says toughness, experience, and enough versatility to help a defense that wants grown-man football.
