Devonte Golden-Nelson brings proven ball skills and veteran CB depth to WVU
Devonte Golden-Nelson is a super-senior cornerback who arrives at West Virginia with proven production, including 33 tackles and seven passes defended in 2024 at Akron, plus two interceptions and a pick-six in 2023, so the appeal is clear: he has shown he can make plays on the ball and finish them. At 5-10/180, he profiles as a competitive, experienced cover man who adds maturity, academic recognition, and transfer-tested reliability, making him a useful fit if your defense values savvy, snap-ready depth over pure projection.[3][5][12]
