John Ferguson is not currently the QB story in Akron’s 2026 room
In the 2026 season, Akron’s depth-chart coverage and roster listings do not show John Ferguson as the active Zips quarterback, with Cibastian Broughton projected to start and other QBs ahead of him; that makes Ferguson more of a historical name than a current on-field factor. His most notable Akron statistical footprint is tiny and dated—he appeared in the 2005 season, going 3-for-9 for 48 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions—so there is no current production profile to judge as a fit right now.
