The Intense, Academic-Honored LB Who Pounces on Opportunities for BYU
Choe Bryant-Strother (pronounced CHAY) is a 6'3", 240-lb linebacker who brings elite intensity and a 'pounce-on-opportunity' mindset to BYU's defense, especially after Ben Bywater's medical retirement thinned the roster. Unlike typical stat-driven players, his differentiator is his relentless pursuit and co-starter intensity at Mack, paired with academic excellence (UCLA Academic Honor Roll, 2023). He played 32 games at UCLA, joined BYU for an 11-2 season, and recorded 10 tackles + 1 sack in 11 games (2025). Though briefly removed from the depth chart due to injury in the Stanford game, his recovery and veteran presence make him a perfect fit for teams needing a high-intensity, intelligent LB who thrives in critical moments.
