Speed-Driven LB with Elite Athleticism for South Dakota State
J.T. Hassell, a 5'10", 200lb linebacker for South Dakota State, stands out for his exceptional speed and athleticism, which energized the Jackrabbits' linebacking corps during the 2014–2015 seasons. Unlike typical LBs, Hassell brings a high-intensity, playmaking mindset that allows him to cover gaps rapidly and disrupt offenses before they develop. Though he later transitioned to the NFL as a safety (currently inactive), his college differentiator remains his rare blend of quickness and football IQ, making him a perfect fit for teams needing a versatile, coverage-capable defender. His injury history is minimal, and his personality is marked by relentless drive—qualities that make him a must-watch for any team seeking intensity and adaptability in the defensive backfield.
