Texas dominated UTEP 27-10 behind Arch Manning's three total touchdowns, including two rushing scores and a 4-yard pass to Ryan Wingo. The Longhorns built a commanding 20-3 lead through three quarters with Manning's touchdown runs and two Mason Shipley field goals. Despite a late touchdown from the Miners' Shay Smith, Texas controlled the game throughout at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.
