Recap

Southern Miss raced to a commanding 42-25 victory over Jacksonville State, powered by running back Jeffery Pittman's two first-quarter touchdown runs. Quarterback Braylon Braxton was electric for the Golden Eagles, accounting for three touchdowns including two second-half scoring passes to Kadinn Morris and Carl Chester. Despite a late push from the Gamecocks, Ian Foster's 49-yard interception return touchdown with 1:27 remaining sealed the decisive win for Southern Miss.
