Arizona State grabbed a thrilling 25-23 victory over West Virginia, with Jesus Gomez's clutch 49-yard field goal with 2:44 remaining proving the difference. Jeff Sims delivered a standout performance, throwing three touchdown passes in the second quarter to build a 22-10 halftime lead for the Sun Devils. The Mountaineers stormed back with 13 fourth-quarter points, briefly taking a 23-22 lead on Scotty Fox Jr.'s spectacular 90-yard touchdown strike to Cyncir Bowers, before Gomez's game-winning kick sealed the win.
