The Eagles turned a competitive battle into a statement win, outscoring the Hornets down the stretch to claim their home triumph in front of the Ypsilanti faithful. The 188-play contest showcased Eastern Michigan's ability to control the game when it mattered most. Sacramento State hung tough early, but the Eagles' relentless execution proved too much as they defended their home turf and sent the Hornets back west with a loss.
