Alvin Gulley Jr. brings veteran size and steady inside push to NIU’s defensive front
In the 2025 season, Alvin Gulley Jr. gave Northern Illinois a reliable interior presence, starting two games and appearing in 11 while posting 15 tackles, 0.5 sacks and two pass breakups. He’s a 6-foot, 302-pound senior DT with transfer experience from Yale, and the appeal is his grown-man frame, depth-value reliability, and ability to contribute as a run-stuffer who can also flash disruption. He’s not a splashy stat-sheet monster, but he looks like the kind of gritty, experienced trench piece coaches trust when they want the middle of the defense to stay loud and mean.
