Recap

Maryland secured a solid 20-9 victory over Northern Illinois behind quarterback Malik Washington's two touchdown passes, including a 42-yard strike to Shaleak Knotts in the fourth quarter. The Terrapins built an early lead with Sean O'Haire's two field goals and never trailed, despite a 74-yard touchdown run by the Huskies' Telly Johnson Jr. in the third quarter. Maryland's defense held firm in the second half, limiting Northern Illinois to just one score while the offense made enough plays to secure the home win.
