Recap

Tulane secured a crucial 34-21 victory over North Texas behind quarterback Jake Retzlaff's two rushing touchdowns and a dominant second quarter that saw the Green Wave build a commanding 24-7 halftime lead. The Mean Green tried mounting a comeback with Drew Mestemaker connecting on touchdown passes to Tre Williams III and Miles Coleman, but Chris Rodgers' 35-yard interception return touchdown in the third quarter proved decisive. Patrick Durkin's late field goal sealed the win for Tulane at Yulman Stadium.
