veteran JSU corner with a playmaker’s résumé
Rashod Byers brings veteran cornerback experience and proven ball skills to Jacksonville State, with a compact 5-9, 185 frame and a history of disrupting passes and creating splash plays for the Gamecocks. In his standout JSU season, he logged 49 tackles, 10 pass breakups, and an interception returned 95 yards for a touchdown, showing he can play physical and opportunistic at the same time. He looks like a fit for a defense that values toughness, coverage instincts, and special-teams attitude.
