The Gamecocks stunned the Hilltoppers 37-34 on Garrison Rippa's walk-off 28-yard field goal as time expired at AmFirst Stadium. Jacksonville State quarterback Caden Creel delivered a masterclass performance, throwing two touchdown passes and breaking free for an electric 70-yard touchdown run that gave the Gamecocks their first lead since the opening quarter. After five lead changes and a tie at 34, Jacksonville State's final drive set up Rippa's game-winning kick to cap an offensive shootout.
